Dear Friends, One more step by Sanjeevani group for "Save Forest" movement! We have provided 100 pairs of Safety Shoes for Sanjay Gandhi National Park guards & workers, to avoid snake bites which are common while working in forest. Mr Sunil Limaye, ifs,Director of Sanjay Gandhi National Park who is very keen & enthucistic environmentalist by himself, accepted the delivery in person at Sanjeevani's office in Pune. Save Tiger as we have always believed isnt just directly saving the specie but strengthening the surrounding system around the Tiger. On 21st Nov. ie Monday, Ashwini Deshapnde along with rohit deshpande & Ganesh tikone, handed the same to officers of Kanha project at Kanha & they were indeed happy as its rarely any outsider understands their difficulties & try to support, was what their reaction! The labors who are most susceptible for snake bites as they have to work bare foot were thrilled & mostly all tried immediately the shoes as alternate day there is a snake bite case in Kanha forest. Because the snake strikes mostly at ankle level, these shoes which covers nearly 6" above ankle level will be the best protection & surely will get down the numbers of snake bite. More important is the guards & labor can work more freely in forest & its that feeling in their mind which is the success of what we have been trying for ! To share the truth many a labors have wore the shoes for the first time in their life as the labors are mostly the native tribal around the forest area & their financial condition dont permit them even a slipper leave apart a shoe pair! Though the forest dept has their own resources yet any help is always welcome & especially Mr Jasbir Chauhan, Director Kanha park was extremely enthusiastic as well supportive for the entire event & personally along with his team distributed the shoes amongst labors as well guards. After all what is a govt dept? A bunch of few people who are supposed to take care of a particular aspect of life & that doesn't mean we as a society should not do anything on that aspect! Rather its the society's participation which make them more enthusiastic towards their job! Dear Friends, "Save Tiger" isn't just a caption which should be hung in our hall or to make it our sign or statement on web sites! Its something we all have to get it in our acts & its not just the tiger which can be saved but the entire system surrounding the same has to be supported then only there are hopes for the poor guy! At Sanjeevani we have always thought out of box & extended our hand to support such cause! For eg every year there are many snake bites at kanha forest & main victims are the labors/guards working in forest for various petty works. It happens mainly most of the local labors are bare feet or with slippers & most snake bites causes because accidentally stepping on the snake while working in grass land or foliage & the victims are bare footed till ankle whare the snake can strike easily. The forest dept is working to protect & have vaccines available yet if we can prevent the bite itself then I think its best help we can do. In my recent visit I come across with director over there Mr Chauhan & who very enthusiastically discussed many topics with me on mail. From the discussion we come out with a concept of giving gum boots/safety shoes to the park workers & executing the same.We will be sending nearly 150 safety shoes pairs to Kanha park ,where the director will distribute them to the park labors. All those who wants to assist the cause also can join as the need is much more,one pair costs 200/- inclusive of sending the same to kanha & u can send the amount directly by inquiring at ... There was a PMT bus strike in Pune & we provided our marketing vehicles at Karve road bus stops to help school kids & the elderly ones to go to nearby location to their destination. I think any such event is test of our social awareness & how we respond to that is what defines what we are ! -- Sanjay Deshpande
Experience of our Marketing colleague Mr. Ganesh who accompanied these students— Due to PMPL strike on 17.2.11, we have provided free service of drop up for School Children & also for elderly people. We have provided our Marketing vehicle ( Innova) in the morning from 11 am – 1 pm & also in the evening from 5 pm – 7 pm. at the SNDT & Karve road bus stops. . It helped a lot for the small school children as rickshaw wala’s were charging higher due to PMPL strike & also most of the rickshaws were occupied. Many students were having their oral or unit test exams, so they were dropped in time at school. Regards,

Dear friends, Yesterday( 15th Jan) after great response for our Save Tiger moments support event in which we sent 100 winter kits to Kanha Tiger Park, now we have sent nearly 75 such kits to Tadoba Andhari Tiger Project, Chandrapur.( It consists a full sleeves sweater, head gear & hand gloves ,all woolen). Frds, I have sent 100 winter kits including a full neck sweater,handgloves & head gear( kantopi) for the forest guards & guides in Knaha Tiger Project.Yesturday on 14th it has been handed over to the Hon Forest Director Mr Himmat Negi who took keen interest in the process & Dy Director Mr Mahanto by my frds & distributed among the field staff & guides who accompany the tourists on their jungle rides. Winter is real chill at Kanha & tem drops at 3-4 degree centigreds! Yet they have to do their job right from early mornings when most of us are fast asleep in our four walls' warmth!
